Marija Smodlaka was born in Tivat, on the Adriatic coast of Montenegro, in 1948.
She graduated from Belgrade University (Serbia) in Art History in 1978.
From 1982 until 1984 she worked with Professor Vasko Lipovac in his Master -Workshop, in the Bay of Kotor, Montenegro.
From 1984-1986 Marija worked in the USA. She currently resides and works in Italy.
Marija has held numerous group and individual exhibitions in Croatia, Serbia and abroad.
